Hi Mike:
You know the drill for hard starts. Electrics. Plugs, wires, cap and
rotor all within service limits? Check the inside tower carbon pick-up on
the cap to see if it's on it's last legs.
Fuel. Sure would be strange to think that now that you have AC again and
the fuel line chillers are back in service that you would somehow develop
vapor lock. I guess you could rule this out by operating in the heat with
no AC and trying to start after a period with engine hot as you describe.
Are the injectors fairly new, how many miles on them. Maybe run a can of
BG44k in the tank to clean them up if it's been a while since you did this
or if they are at the end of their life replace.
I just saw a posting from Chet, maybe give him a email direct to see if he
can help out.
Regards,
Dick

The SEC has had a starting problem the last couple of weeks and its
been getting a little worse each week.
If its cold, if fires RIGHT up. If its been driven a while, up to
normal temperature, it seems to not like the next start starts, stumbles,
maybe runs, no power and when its put in gear it stumbles, quits, then may
or may not start. If the car is in a garage/parking structure, it has
restarted fairly easily. I rev it a couple of tims, then put it in gear and
drive away. Park the hot car in the hot sun, even under the car cover and 1.
it fires up but stumbles, quits, then wont start for a while or 2. it might
not start at all, just crank. Several times it fired right up but had no
power putting it in gear and it stumbles and quits, then its VERY
difficult to start. Today I tried to listen for the fuel pumps but no noise.
This didnt seem to happen until I fixed the A/C and now that the A/C is
cold, the car has this problem. Might be coincidence.
Vapor lock or fuel pumps? Which direction should I go in
troubleshooting??
Later,
Mike R.
