[W126 Coupe] OVER HEAT QUESTION

Mike,

Not to sound like a wise-ass, but short of putting a thermometer in the
radiator, you don't really know what the temperature is.

I am one of those idiots who thought white-face guages sounded nice and
bought a set on ebay. And, yes, I had a hell of a time putting the needles
back on. Setting them properly took three ins- and outs- of the instruments
and double checking for when the thermostat kicked in, long drives in cool
wheather to figure out where the needle would settle, etc.

It certainly can't hurt to have your cooling system checked out. A new
thermostat, a proper radiator flush and a new fan clutch are worthwhile
insurance against overheating, which is the death of our aluminium engines.

Regards,
Axel J. Wulff
