AC info.
You may find that this link has helpful information on oils and conversions.

I'm running R134 in my '91 560.
I live in Louisiana and it gets damn hot down here.
On the hwy the AC cools great. Around town it just cools
But it does not blow 'cold cold'.
I've converted 4 of my other vehicles over the past several year,
-2 Gm pickups with A6 compressors, '85 RX-7, Ford Taurus.
I've found that converted systems are
Very sensitive to minor changes in amount of Freon in the system.
For R134 to cool more efficiently, it requires a condenser coil with
Larger diameter tubes so converted R12 systems will never be as cold
As an original R134 system.
Good luck.

Probably first you should find out if it is out of Freon. Maybe something
else is wrong. Then if it is you need to find the leak and repair it before
putting more of any kind of gas in. R-12 is readily available and delivers
more cold than R-134. If yours is a 87 to 89 it has less gas capacity than
the 90 to 91 anyway by about 15% and I believe you would uncomfortably
reduce the performance of the AC system using R-134.
John.
