[W126 Coupe] Putting a 3.06 ratio dif.

Last week I went to U pull R parts self service junk yard and pulled out a
3.06 rear end from a w116 450 they had out there.  I undid the drive shaft
the 4 bolts and the differential mount and the differential came right
down.  So today I decided to take the differential down from my sec, did
the same thing as in the w116 except the differential went down a foot
dragging the subframe and the driveshaft down  and stopping once my rear
tires touched inner fenders.   The only thing I did different is I had a
jack underneath the dif. so it would not fall and ands hang on my axles so
hard after I undid the mount.  How do i get the dif. free from the subframe
and my driveshaft?
