If its on the high side, I'd bet money it the short blue hose that is
between the drivers head light and the condenser. This high pressure line
runs from the condenser to the receiver dryer that just behind the drives
head light. This is a common problem with that leaking on the high side.
There should not be any other leaks on the high side.
You may not see the hose right away as they tend to get a lot of muck on
them and look black. But If you wipe it off its is blue.
You'll need to replace this hose.
To check the compressor, this is simple. 1st make sure the A/C belt is
still on there, good sign. Then reach down on the front of the compressor
and see if you can turn the clutch. Which should turn freely, might be a bit
stiff but should turn pretty good. If clutch turns then you should be ok.
If your system has been down for a while you should also replace the
following, high and low pressure switched and dryer, and a new O-ring for
the addition high pressure line that runs along the fender(it too hooks into
the dryer), should be blue if original if changed it will be black. Have a
vacuum put on it and make sure its holding then recharge and your good to go
!
