Axel,
I decided to contribute my $0.02, because I shipped two sets of wheels from
Germany to the U.S. (Port of Jacksonville, FL) last year.
I have a German friend who exports trucks and occasionally has a container
coming the opposite way. He was able to send the two sets of wheels (BBS RS-1
and Lorinser RS-90) in his container. The only disadvantage was I had to wait
for months to receive them. U.S. Customs also was a unique hassle; you'd
swear nobody had ever tried to ship anything from Germany to the U.S. ever before!
If you have lots of patience, feel free to check back with me. I'll be happy
to link you up with my German friend, who is in the U.S. 'til Thursday, then
back here again in about two weeks.
