Well you are correct. took out the roof and the left side was busted in half while the right side was damaged as well. Took parts to my local welder. He welded both parts, I cleaned the welds up with a dremmel, greased and everything is working near perfect. Just need to figure out how to adjust the roof so when it closes it seats right. But other than that works great. 35.00 bucks to fix it !

  Jason,

This sounds very similar to what happened to mine a few months ago. You are right on in thinking it is one of the aluminum rails that has broken. As I recall, the replacement cost for the rails & associated hardware was around $300. Once the sunroof (top part) is lifted out, the rails will be accessible.

  Good Luck, Lance

My roof was on tilt mode, went to close it heard a pop. Got out and put it back on tilt and it closed crooked. Then I tried again and it closed, made a pop noise again, now its stuck. I check the archives, best suggestion would be to remove the pannel then take the roof out and inspect the rails/ guieds that slide correct?

I know the motor is working fine I can hear it engaging, but something in the roof gave out and its stuck. Prior to this it worked flawless. Just want to make sure that pulling the panel and removing the roof would be the best way to try and find out whats stuck and broke in there. I guess once your remove the bolts that hold the roof it just lifts out? Any help or ticks would be great.

      Thanks

      Jason
