[W126 Coupe] brake upgrades?

Well, I know about the ATE powerdisc and I think that's supposed to be
the best slot pattern, and from what I've read here a cross drilled disk
will actually increase one-stop stopping distances. But either way, I
don't think switching to a slotted rotor will slow me down much faster
will it? I've noticed since putting on these Firestones, the brakes
can't stop the car hard enough to really squeal the tires or to kick in
the ABS at all in dry weather, so that leaves room for improvement
without going to wider rubber. Probably would have stopped me that 5
feet shorter that I needed, but I'm really looking to drop the 60-0
distances by like 30-40 feet, which I'm guessing needs a whole big brake
set up (and bigger tires).

As an aside, for people who have used PRB Metal Masters and the stock
Benz pads, how many miles were you getting out of each? I typically get
about 8000 out of the Benz ones and my Metal Masters have about 13,000
on them right now, I wonder if the brake pad wear light has failed.

Richard
