Jim,
I saw this option in an 83 euro 500 in Las Vegas a few years back, at the
ist national MBCOUPES get together. It had velour interior, and was deep
green in color. It belongs to Dave and Judy Johnson, I beleive they are from
Ca. Beautiful 1 owner car! And what a story they have of picking it up in
Holland I think it was.

I test drove a '90 SEC a couple of years ago that got away from me and it
had
the rear shade and another option I wish I did not know about, orthopedic
seats.
They have to be the best option available but are very rare. I will not be
completely satisfied until I have that option. There is a bulb to sqeeze
which
pumps air into bladders that surround and support the lower back as if the
seats
were molded just for your back. It really makes you feel completely
connected to
the car. JimAlex

It's the OEM rear sunshade, rare US option, slightly more common in
California. Friend of mine lucked out and found one in a junkyard in
Europe, I believe talbir has been able to get some of the parts from
European dealers as well. It's not to difficult to install, as the later
model rear parcel shelves have all the markings on the bottom, so long as
you can find the screen and motor itself.

Hi Eddie,
Where did you get the rear shade from, and was it difficult to install?
Thanks
Bruce
