[W126 Coupe] Seat heater lights work but no heat FIX!

Very informative information. My 90 560SEC's rear window shade doesn't
work and I am now wondering if one of the fuses in the small box can be
the cause of my problem. Do you happen to know that?

 Hi Vince, The Monoblock II's in 18X8 will fit all the way around with
no spacers. I run them on my car in the fronts. In the rears, if you
want to use the 18X8, you can. Or you can use the 18X9 for the
"staggered look" but will need 20mm spacers and 60mm bolts to go with
them. Make sure they are hubcentric spacers made to fit our cars and
those wheels. There are several places these can be gotten from. If
need be I can check my receipts and find where I got mine, its been
about 5 years since I did mine. Good luck,Markus--- On Mon 12/27, Vince

Oh, and the turban'd gentleman in MB Enthusiast is the
famous Englishman Talbir. He is an authority on
everything in the world. Quite infatuated with
himself. You can also see him in the movie, BEND IT
LIKE BECKHAM. He portrays the sympathetic father.

OK, heard it enough, and experienced it in many older MB's...
Seat heater switches light up and cycle from two lights (high) to one
lig=3D
ht
(low) but still no heat on seats.

Just spent several hours at MB looking in manuals and talking to
mechanic=3D
s..

Then in walks a retired MB master mechanic who loves W126 models....
we talk about my 1991 500 SEC (yep it is a 500, it's a German model) and
I mention the problem to him.
He laughs and shows me what it is.... and the all the other mechanics
wer=3D
e
at a loss.

Since 1989 the problem is mounted outside the fuse box to the front
left.=3D
.

prior to 1989 it should be inside the box just rear of the fuses..

A small black box, looks just like a relay if the cover is still on it.

When removed there will be 4 sockets but only 3 pins on the relay..=20
remove the cover and there is a and you will see Fuse #22 a blue, 25
amp=3D

fuse .... =20
if like all the 126's I looked at tonight, it will probably be melted
wit=3D
h
plastic preventing the power to flow or the fuse melted down.

Diagram:
=20
harness: nopin pin (to seat heater)
harness:     pin(12v)       pin

The fuse should be between the nopin and pin to seat heater..
clean, rebend and insulate underneath where the nopin is and
reinstall...=3D

The seat heater control modules on newer MB's (1989 and on)=20
have one power supply into the control module through the switches for
co=3D
ntrol

and another (red/yellow) power supply direct from fuse #22 to the
control=3D

module for heat.
Prior to 1989 they show a relay for each seat.

YEP... happy with a warm butt now!!!!!

I'll second that. I've had Tire Rack drop ship tires directly to the

Mr Melidosian,
do us all a favor by voluntarily discontinue your membership in this MB
site, if not,
make it your read-only site. You seem to have intellectually challenges,
as you via your
statements clearly show that you need help that we can not provide. Go
find professional

Is anyone on one of these lists using an Internet Service provider named

"rev.techex.net.au" or the address "203.222.145.244"? Do any of you have

the name "Graham Bradshaw" in your address book?

If so, please scan your computer against viruses. You are flooding my=20

Let's see, there was "XSILVANGEL" that was rude and obnoxious to many,
now
we have Andy being rude and obnoxious. We tolerated XSILVANGEL for his
proclivity toward obnoxiousness and we can tolerate Andy. As far as I
know,
I'm the only one that was banned from MBCoupes.com, so it looks like
Andy
gets to play with us for a while more. Personally, I believe Andy is
doing a
talented job of yanking peoples chains and is getting off on the
responses.
So......

Thanks,
Mike Ramay
PS, I didn't get a Christmas card either, but I keep hoping.
