a bit off-topic to the serious business of LF photography, but indeed
a historical large format question.

i recently acquired this 4x5 transparency:
http://shinozuka.org/mfs/

i was a bit surprised that a transparency would be used for media
distribution (as can be inferred from the accompanying descriptions)
and more so a 4x5 transparency. i thought B&W 8x10s were ubiquitous.

i was wondering what sort of film "245 Kodak" (visible on top edge)
was. i assume that the transparency is one of many duplicates made off
an original positive or negative. is it likely that this transparency
was made from another format?

perhaps someone who knows how the business worked and the color
films of the mid-60's can fill me in.

thanks!

p.s. i'm a big howard hawks fan, and _man's favorite sport_ (1964) was an
underappreciated gem. it's 40 years old this year. it's a huge
favorite of my 3-7 yr old kids (especially the scenes with bears.)
