Could you ask grimes to include the paperwork where it went down with the
return paperwork to instantly prove the lens just went down for a
rejuvenating vacation?

I'd like to add my appreciation of the Grimes shop ... I sent down a
Copal 3 and some glass for modifications, the unit came back, as with
Jeff, earlier than expected and running a whole lot smoother upon
leaving Rhode Island than when it arrived.

It is my misfortune, however, to have to deal with Canada Customs who
charged me tax and duties on the value of the lenses and shutter rather
than the work done. I can and have have applied for a refund but it's at
least six weeks until I see a cheque ... and a customs agent laughingly
told me over the phone that I should be thankful I'm not a business as
waiting periods of more than a year are common for commercial rather
than personal refunds.

Which leads me to a search for a Canadian shutter mechanic ... my other
Copal needs a CLA, and I want to enquire about graphite lubrication,
namely, will it protect the shutter in warm weather as well as the
traditional lubricants?

What do the other Canadian list members do when it comes to shutter
repair?

regards
David Galway
