In Italy, most of the historical sites are restricted to "amateur" photography without a permit -- and the definition of amateur is (you guessed it) photography without a tripod!!! This is why I always carry my Mamiya 7 and Portra 400NC -- great for such handheld shots. J Michael Sullivan
