Philip,

As you know the judgment of grain size and its affect on a print would vary
greatly re: the type shot and its intended use. These were poster prints
of sports or racecar action, so grain is not as large a problem. I do think
I have a test shot piece left I would be glad to drop in the mail (USA) it
that is not feasible I can state that even with the 1600 ASA 20x30 print
from the 35mm neg. you can see the grain at arms length but it is not
noticeable. With the 400ASA film you cannot make out grain at arms length.

Very interesting. I use 200 Fuji print for sharp 9x6s and 400 Fuji if I
need a little more speed and it's nearly as good.
However 800 iso (it might have been Kodak actually) was grainy at 9x6.
Certainly one shot having an exposure error showed up the grain. If you are
making 30inch long prints yet the grain is not an issue, how far back are
you viewing from? Philip
