Rich:

If you're planning on contact-printing 5x7 chromes onto Ilfochrome, I think
it should be possible to do it pretty economically. If there's no filter
drawer on the Elwood (haven't owned one for 20 years, so don't recall!),
then under-the-lens system will work -- since you're contact printing, even
small bits of dust on the filters won't matter.

As for processing, get yourself a Unicolor drum, and if poossible a
Uniroller. You can do it manually, without the roller, but it's pretty
tedious. Both these items can usually be found cheap in any city large
enough to have a healthy number of used-photo-eqpt stores.

As I recall, the process is reasonably fussy on temperature, but this can be
managed with a water bath for storing the little cups of chemicals (before
you put them in the drum), and paying attention to rigid consistency.

Best of luck with it!
