This has happened to me way too much. In fact, in two weeks I'm going on a backpacking trip to a very beautiful place that I went to 10 years ago with my Boy Scout Troop, and I have been struggling with myself trying to decide whether I want to bring the 4x5 along. It's a lot of weight, but there are so many truly awesome things to photograph up there (if my memory serves me right). Anyway, to get mack on the subject, I lived in Island Park, Idaho (not too far from Yellowstone N.P.), and there were countless opportunities to photograph some of the prettiest streams and vistas I have seen that I just ignored. And then I wondered (somewhat erroneously) if and/or why I had fallen into a rut. I kept thinking that I'd come back later at the same time of day, or whatever, and never did. Or, there were times that I did have my camera with me (this just happened last week) where I didn't make a photograph, because I thought it wouldn't look good. But then the guy I was with showed
me his negatives, and they were beautiful.
