Clive,
A Westfalia VW is the poptop camper. It's a marvelous vehicle for going
places, staying whereever you want to, for as long as you want to.....and
then going somewhere else.
My wife and I bought one in 1977; always kept it loaded with food and water
(did nothing for the gas mileage), and would pick up and go places on a
whim. It was great. Part of the memory was of course that we had no
obligations or committments that prevented that sort of activity.
I too envy Karl his trip.
