[LargeFormat] Advice on Lens Choice

Clive,
I have the Super Ang. f/8 monster for my 165. I believe our respective air
forces use a device that weighs slightly less for bunker busters. Though the
lens has quite a nice circle on the film, I run into problems with the
Deardorff bellows being so compressed that I can not take advantage of what
the lens can do. Unfortunately, Deardorffs don't have a bag bellows option.
You are correct about the longer lenses. Absolutely unuseable with any wind.
And the telephoto formula severely restricts movements. There have just been
those times when I really wished I could have reached out a little further.
Always want to use as much of that 80 sq. inches as I can. But there are
many, many, many things I need before I get that lens......
My 210 is a f/10 Process Nikor, no shutter. This is a lens that is convex
front and rear, even requires special convex lens caps. It only stops down
to f/32, and it's a 'hard' stop, no way to turn past and extrapolote. I
never put the $$ into getting it mounted and having the lower stops put in.
SKG had said he could do it and give me the extra stops. Choices, choices,
choices.....
Yours,
Bob
