My C set is a series VII also, While you could buy your single
elements one at a time, you could also buy them all at once, with a
little advantage of a single case....

Zeiss and B&L sold a series of three or 4 single elements as a Lettered
Set. Series C covered 5x7, Series d coverd 6x8 and some 8x10, And
series F covered 8x10 all of these are Series VII protars, but as you
might surmise the barrel diameter of the F set is a lot larger than the
series C. I call mine a C+ set as it also has a 5x7 ex wide Series V
protar with a flange adapter so it doesn't need a second board--my only
trouble is my Kodak 2D is a hair's breath shy of making infinity with
the Protar V. So its for interiors only.

B&Ls C set was 8 3/4, 11 3/16, and 13 3/4. Combined to make 5 5/8, 6
1/8, and 7

B&Ls D set was 11 3/16, 13 3/4, 16 1/8, 18 7/8 combined they make 7,
7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2, 9 1/8, 10.

Notice that the sets over lap with two cells. The glass will be
identical, but the mount they are in will not. With the C set the 11
and 13 will be in the smallest barrel diameter possible. With the D
set they will be in the same barrel size as the much larger 18 7/8"

My Zeiss C set is 22cm 28cm and 35cm or 9 3/4 12 7/16, 15 9/16.
Richard is right, they are notably different in focal lenght.
