Jim,
Well, 360mm = 14", which is the long dimension of your 11x14. The long
dimension of a 35mm neg is 36mm, so, assuming that the long dimension is
what's important to you, that would be about a 36mm lens. If you want
to get involved in the concept of similar proportions, you'll only be
using about 30mm of the long dimension of the 35mm negative, so the
equivalent 35mm lens would be about 30mm (a better answer, I think).
I've found that these comparisons tend to limp a bit, due primarily to
the different ratios, and also due to the different "feel" of different
formats, but that's just me.
We could do this using the Pythagorean theorem, but you still have the
aspect ratios to consider.

Subject: [LargeFormat] 35mm to LF equivalents
Hi Folks:
Does anyone know what is the approximate 35mm equivalent of a 360mm lens
on an 11x14 camera? I'm thinking that it's about 35 to 40mm but I'd
like some confirmation.
TIA,
