[LargeFormat] The Czar's Photographer

  There is a perfectly astonishing collection of photographs
on the Library of Congress web site:

  These are color photographs made by Sergei Mikhailovich
Prokudin-Gorskii before the revolution. They were made using
a sequential plate camera of some sort. These were intended
for additive projection using three projectors. The LoC has
recovered the images digitally. They are quite remarkable.
