Dear Nephew Philip,

    Your Australian uncle has been secreting again. In this case he has been
himself in the darkroom printing up the 9-month pregnancy shoot that took
place last year.

     Actually it seems to have been the last several years - a long-term
project like that can seem to stretch time. I think it was like that for the
two photo models. Well.....SOME things stretched and the mum has the marks
to prove it.

    Quite what the baby, Flinders, thought of all the flashes and pops going
on outside during the 9 month period is an interesting speculation. He
didn't seem at all disturbed by the studio strobes when we did the final
shots of him lying out on Mum's tummy or nursing, so perhaps he recognised
the sensation. Quite what he will think of the pictures of himself as a
vague and growing lump displayed at various beach-side and mountain stream
locations or stuck into a picture frame in the studio will also be
interesting. Mother plans to exhibit a nine piece panorama of pregnancy in
their hallway.

    How appropriate. Today is Mother's Day in Australia and I get to go out
and spend lunchtime at a restaurant amongst all the Mothers and all the
children. As a treat I plan to scald myself later with boiling water.
