Tim,

If you get the results that you are happy with then all is fine and it 
certainly saves you money. In terms of cost, a used CPA2 is not that 
expensive if you consider that you can also process chromes and have all of 
the chemicals at the same temperature throughout the development 
cycle.  The temperature control is probably also rather useful for 
consistency with B&W work. That Expert tank must cool down the chemicals 
over a typical 7 to 9 minutes dev. - am assuming here that the Unicolor 
does not have a water bath for the drum......

Although the Unicolor is cheap - what are the costs of returning to a 
particular location to retake a shot or wait for that wonderful stunning 
light that led you into opening the shutter in the first place?

Anyway, if it works for you and your film processing techniques then that 
is all that matters.
