You can see the camera Bill Brandt in "on the other side of the
camera" Arnold Crane on page 108 and 109 there are two pictures of
Bill Brandt with the camera he used to make the pictures for the book
"Perspective of Nudes" 1968.
Bill Cranes says that it is a beautiful 8x10 inch wooden camera with
a wide-angle Carl-Zeiss Protar lens 1:18 ,
so this pictures are taken with a lens and are no pinhole pictures.
is there somebody on the list who knows this lens
in "a history of the photographic lens" rudolf kingslake page 83 I
find that this is a anastigmat and that Zeiss changed the name of
their lenses to Protar in 1900 and that the 1:18 series V Protar
survived as the standard wide angle lens for commercial photography
up to the 1930s. who knows the focal length and did this lens cover 8
x10?
