Check out the Infrared FAQ at http://www.infraredfaq.org this has 
answers to most of your questions.

If you want 8x10 B&W infrared film without breaking the bank, then 
try MACO. They will probably make a batch for you at any size you 
want, although you may have to wait for a while. The MACO URL is on 
the f32.net www links page.
