[LargeFormat] Double checking.

If the negative measures a true 8x10 then its diagonal is 325mm and this is
the focal length of a standard lens, equivalent roughly to 43mm on 35mm
(which is a different shape, hence roughly). On this basis 20mm equates to
150mm. A portrait lens is usually longer than the standard lens although I
have seen a few strange portraits taken with wideangle lenses. You would get
the equivalent of 85mm on 35mm with 650mm on 10x8. I don't know if there
are any such creatures out there but how long is the bellows on your camera?
Maybe a Nikkor telephoto would suit but the prices are daunting. As to soft
focus, Imagon comes to mind but for 10x8? You did not mention your budget.
Hope this helps. Philip
