Les,

You bring up points that I hadn't thought of, which is why I love to read
these posts. Even if I don't always post anything and just lurk around. But
lets go look at our friend Tiger Woods (for the record I think he does it all
with mirrors). If someone shoots digitally a great shot. Gets it printed
digitally to conventional paper then sells it. The next guy does the same
thing with film. They both make money or not lets say it's just a hobby. It's
the same shot. Is one really better than the other?

I'm sure your correct in saying that the guy shooting in film sooner or later
is going to be out. But when is that going to be I wonder?

Don't get me wrong. I think that even if it's a very long way off the demise
of film is probably going to happen. It's not that I don't want to learn the
digital trade it's just out of my reach at the moment. I have to admit though
I do love large format and the process of shooting a shot. For me I think
even if I shot digitally I'd still fuss with the original shot before pushing
the shutter (do you still call it a shutter when you shoot digitally). So my
big question still is. Can one get into the commercial field without starting
out digitally? Or am I just spinning my wheels?
