like I said, it depends on the size of the garden. Mnay UK gardens are strips behind the house, longer than they are wide, with dividing fences between them - , a wide lens may not be appropriate. 

Lets us not forget that the differences in population densities dictate the amount of land around a house. In Canada its 3.4 people/km2, the USA its 29.7 people/km2 & in England its 388 People/km2.
