I missed the first of this discussion, but wanted to clarify glues
mentioned....

Gorilla glue is put on in VERY THIN amounts.... more like you wet the
surface. It expands upon contact with moisture ( even small amounts on
wood). You can use mineral spirits, or paint thinner as a clean offf
product when it is wet, but once dried, it is much tougher to remove. It is
waterproof as already mentioned.... It has a working time of about 20-30
minutes. Depending on the particular brand name of the generic glue, it
dries clear, whitish,or brownish. Sets HARD

Titebond comes in 2 flavors.. Titebond and Titebond II The II version is
yellow in color and has a sliughtly lonbger set up time.... about 10
minutes. Titebond II is more waterproof, but wither will come apart if you
take the joint and soak it with water.... Sets SOFT

Epoxy types are the best glues, but they are the most difficult to work..
you can reach over gaps with epoxy glues, and the epoxy is strong on its
oen... it can fill gaps with strength.. the others will not. The worst in
this regard is Titebond types.... Tocolor epoxy, you add aniline dyes, in
small amounts. Sets VERY HARD.

Clamp either overnight for best results.
