Dear Philip,

The naughty French postcards are produced in my own studio - Dr.
Stein's Frontier and Colonial Photographic Establishment. They are actually
naughty cabinet photos mounted on thick card in a fine brown tone. Some of
the subjects also have a fine brown tone.

I find that the annual Toodyay Festival is a good opportunity to add to
the stock of poses. The townspeople dress up in period costume to reenact
the trials of Moondyne Joe the bushranger and every year there is a
burgeoning number of filles de joie. It is a popular profession, if only for
one day. As I attend with my field camera - the WRN - I can assemble them in
the main street for a group shot or do them one by one in the hotel. Last
year there were ten of them and it was a long day, particularly when I had
to fit the local constable in between Leatherbottom Lou and the Irish Twins.

I tell you it is great to march down the street with ten trollops in tow
shouting " All whores come with me for an exposure!"

Of course then we have the more exotic poses in the studio, but I
daresay you ae not interested in those....

    Uncle Dick
