Some bellows cameras seem a bit limited at the wideangle end. It's not =
just a matter of the standard bellows binding. My Linhof Color monorail =
is a 54 design but with a 69 rear end.When using a 65mm SAngulon on a =
recessed board the design of the standards get in the way, although not =
with a 75mm in a similar board, I think.
Modern expensive monorails e.g. Arca, Ebony, evidently handle 47mm S =
Angulons without problems. I have heard that the latest 47mm w/a have a =
longer back focus and more coverage, which would be handy. I have =
gone back to using my 69 Technika V for country houses, as it can handle =
my old 47mm on a helical focussing mount with no movements, or 65mm with =
a little. I am getting one shortly to try. The alternative is a 75mm S =
Angulon. I am just assembling an extended mount to use a 305mm Repro =
Claron.

I have a Toyo 45D, and the lens came in a very nice Toyo
recessed lensboard. Unfortunately, the camera does not
have interchangeable bellows so the bag bellows won't be
an option. I plan on using it more for landscapes than=20
anything else (no architecture), in which I'll probably only
need a slight front tilt. I've played around with it and it seems
okay with just the recessed board. Thanks for the info.

    Hi Charles,
Couldn't find data on the Caltar but I did for the
    Rodenstock Grandagon viz: 8 elements/4 groups 75mm f4.5 =
195mm circle coverage 83mm film to flange

You did not mention your camera but a sunken lensboard and bag =
bellows would help you with rising front! Philip

      Hi everyone,
      =20
I recently acquired a Caltar II-N 75mmf/4.5 in excellent shape
and I was wondering if anyone had any comments or experience
with this lens. I'm assuming it's the same design as the=20
Rodenstock 75/4.5 Grandagon. I'm planning to shoot some
transparencies in the near future to test it out, but I'd love any
      input from the list. Thanks!
