What do you mean 19th Century?  My London childhood was quite Dickensian at
times. I wonder if infra red photography would have penetrated.  It's only
within recent decades that smokeless fuel legislation fixed the fog problem
but the winter air is often foul with car exhausts.  Electric cars would be
nice.  Virtual cars eventually?  Philip
