Hi my LF fellows,

Greetings from Taiwan. I'm a new kid in LF. Although enjoyed shooting =
120 B/W for about 6 years, the larger film size might be one of the =
reason to let my 135 system for color photos, I bought my Graphic View I =
some 1 year ago. Later, bought film holder (2nd hand), a tripod =
(actually for measuring instrument, something big, while study.). Still =
can not afford a lens. Because I'm only eating bread and butter after =
all those costed my arm and leg. (Actually, my wife stamped on the =
brake.)

What to do? Bought aluminum board, went to my friend's factory-- =
metalworking machinery factory, got board fixed into size, drill a hole, =
bought brass foil. Played with my pinhole camera-- with a zoom pinhole. =
However, after I developed my first negative. Boy!!! I just falled in =
love with 4x5. Even I have not printed those negs out, I know I'm in =
love with 4x5. Although loading film is a pain to me-- I use a small =
changing bag, while hands sweating. However, I'm lucky enough to find a =
free-of-charge assistant to do it for me-- my wife. Lucky me, wasn't it?

Earlier last month, I bought 2 lens-- 100 mm/f5.6 Sironar, in perfect =
condition, 150 mm/f3.5 Tessar W/O coating, but in pristine condition. =
The only thing I have to do to Tessar was the blades was broken, I sent =
it to Grimers for repair. One bonus, I just found the rear elements of =
my Componon 150/5.6 enlarger lens can fit into Sironar and get something =
about 165 mm. Can someone explain it?=20

I just developed negs from my first shooting. Everything is perfect-- I =
use Kodak Tri-X, rated at 200, developed by D-76, 20 deg. C, for 10 & =
half min. Perfect neg. The only problem is I might be got a pig head, I =
should have loaded my Graphic View in front of the Bar. I have to find a =
time to shoot the sceneary again.=20

Anyhow, 4x5, absolutely love it. Actually, I'm now regreting to buy my =
Kaiser 6x9 enlarger about 5 years ago. (How can I tell my wife that I =
need another enlarger???) Can anyone able to help me to build an 4x5 =
enlarger?

What a nice thing to stay with 4x5. Sorry, my Rolleiflex 2.8D, Nikon F3. =
Both of you, also my other cameras, over 15. It's you time to take a =
rest.=20

Best Regards,

Ming-Sung Lin
From Taiwan

P.S. Actually, we 4x5 guys might be classified as endangered animals. =
When digital is coming, we really do not have much room to survive, =
i.e., to find film. At least, I have to ask my local shop to order for =
me. =20
