I use Wisner 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 Technical Fields. I prefer the 5x7
models over the 4x5 simply because they give more bellows draw, and the
bellows doesn't bunch up as quickly when using wide-angle lenses, allowing
you to hold off on getting the bag bellows a little longer. The weight
difference between the 4x5 and 5x7 is not much, and the 5x7 appears only
slightly larger. Put a 4x5 reducing back on the 5x7 and it becomes
dual-purpose. However, the knobs on the 4x5 are bigger and easier to grasp.
When opening up the camera, I use two hands to raise the standards
taking care to keep the bellows off of the metal parts that the lens board
fits into. My bellows look like new, as a result.
How in the world do you manage to close it with a 210 G-Claron? For
the life of me, unless we have sligthtly different models, mine would be
impossible to close with that lens on it.
