Anything that makes your modem look busy to the system will result in =
the message that you got. Computers don't always tell the truth, =
especially in their error messages. The fact that you didn't see =
anything in the task bar (and I assume that that includes the =
'Connection Indicators' -- the little monitors ) means that a connection =
was probably not made.=20
If some program was using the modem it should show up in the task list =
while it is active. If this happens again, press CTL-ALT-DEL and examine =
the task list for programs that shouldn't be running at the time. See =
which ones are at the top of the list. These are the most current ones. =
Have you given any of them permission for automatic update? How about =
permission to dial in if not on line?=20
