Friends of Guinea,

As you all know, the elections scheduled for June 27 would be historic for
Guinea, a country that hasn't elected a ruler since its independence in
1958. In order to make sure that they are free, fair, and representative of
all Guineans, the transitional government will need support from the rest of
the world.

As Friends of Guinea we have the opportunity to put pressure on the U.S.
government to make sure that adequate resources are provided for these
elections.

If you want to help support Guinea at this crucial juncture, Alliance Guinea
needs your help in meeting with Members of Congress to ensure that proper
support is given to Guinea as it works towards a democratically-elected
government.

We are looking to connect Guineans and friends of Guinea in places across
the U.S. so that they can make short, powerful pleas to their
Congresspersons to ensure a democratic future for Guineans at this critical
time.

If you are interested in pairing with a team of Guineans and Americans to
meet with your representative, contact Steve Wood (stephenawood at gmail.com)
ASAP to get started.

If you can't meet with your representative, you can still take action by
calling or writing a letter.

Alliance Guinea has a new Advocacy Kit with step-by-step instructions for
meeting with and contacting representatives. Contact Steve Wood (
stephenawood at gmail.com) if you would like a kit.

Thanks for your support during such a crucial time.
