Ms Teresa Morgan has adopted a child from West Africa, Republic of Guinea.  Her child's biological mother wrote a letter to her daughter in her native language.  Since neither Ms Morgan or her daughter can read or speak this language they are looking for someone who can help them translate.

Evan Coughenour (88-90) lived in Macenta and married a Toma lady named Wuido.? He speaks very good Toma.? His family lives in Manhattan, KS,? but I believe Evan and Wuido now live and work in Jamaica.

My daughter and I hope to visit my son Hunter in Guinea this summer.  The
travel info on the FOG website is pretty out of date, so I'm hoping that
some of you might have some travel tips.  Any info you can share will be

Hi all,

I've had a short exchange with a Guinean International Relations student in Conakry who appears to be quite serious about a project to study the effect of PC in the Fouta.  I'm not entirely clear about the information he's seeking, but he'd like to start with some official contact with PC, as well as any reports that we have available.

I've contacted the CD to see if they are able and willing to give him some assistance, but sometime the grassroots way is the best way to go.  Are there any current volunteers in the Fouta, or anybody with some public documents on Peace Corps, who can give him some assistance?  Guinea needs more international diplomats, this could be a good opportunity to affect the country's youth, I say.

I am an RPCV, Uganda 2004-2006, who will be traveling to Guinea in
mid-February on business.  I work for a non-profit called Inveneo.  We
create highly sustainable and affordable ICT infrastructure technology
systems for rural and remote areas in the developing world.  To
do this, we identify low power computers and other IT equipment, then
partner with local ICT organizations in a given country.  I am
traveling to Guinea to look for local ICT companies.  I am also
investigating the Internet connectivity options in Conakry and more
remote areas.  I was wondering if any of your members, either PCVs or
RPCVs might know of ICT companies that I can contract when I am in
Conakry.  Could you please publish this email on your listserv?   Or
can I join your listserv?
