With all due respect, I think you are quite mistaken. The prefixes 'k' and
'K' are generally used interchangably. So are 'm' and 'M' although this
is technically incorrect, since the prefix 'm' means 10^(-3). In the world of
networking, 'K' means 1000, 'M' means 1000000, and 'G' means 1000000000.
Look through the literature. The usage is consistent.
