      1.   MANIFESTO=20
      By Yaffa Ganz - Israelinsider.com - November 22, 2002=20

      The following is unsophisticated, undiplomatic, simple, stark and =
direct. It is also politically incorrect, uncomfortable and difficult =
for many people to hear. The truth often is. Which is why even those in =
the Government of Israel who accept these principles have trouble =
articulating them for the public. As a private citizen, I have the =
luxury of speaking freely - after all, I do live in the only democracy =
in the Middle East - and of saying what people, especially Jews, all =
over the world know and believe is true. Therefore, I hereby proclaim... =

      1. The Land of Israel - the "Holy Land" - is the =
Divinely-bestowed, Eternal Heritage of the Jewish People, promised by =
God to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It has been the =
indisputable, historical Jewish homeland since the time of Abraham, 3744 =
years ago. Look it up in the book of Genesis.=20

      2. The Temple Mount is holy because God chose it as the site for =
the Beit Hamikdash - the Holy Temple. The First Temple was built here in =
the year 833 B.C.E., fifteen hundred years prior to Mohammed and the =
rise of Islam - despite wishful Arab claims to the contrary. The two =
Temples stood on this spot for a total of almost one thousand years. Six =
hundred years later, in the eighth century, the gilded Dome of the Rock =
(the Mosque of Omar) and the El Aksa mosque were built on the site.=20

      3. Jerusalem is the Eternal capital of the Jewish people. Jewish =
Biblical tradition claims the city and the Temple Mount from the time of =
Abraham down to King David down to today. Jerusalem is the geographic =
and spiritual heart of Jewish existence in this world. It is mentioned =
more than 600 times in the Bible and scores of thousands of times in =
Jewish sources (and not even once in the Koran). All Jews everywhere =
turn to face Jerusalem in prayer. Moslems turn to face Mecca. As is God =
Himself, so too are Jerusalem and the Jewish People - one, eternal and =
indivisible.=20

      4. Jerusalem, Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Gaza are all ancient =
Biblical cities - Jewish cities - part of the legacy of the Twelve =
Tribes of Israel and home to continuous Jewish settlement from Biblical =
times until the late nineteenth-early 20th century. They are full of =
Jewish holy sites, burial places, archeological remains and historical =
memories - witness to an unbroken Jewish presence in the Land of Israel. =

      5. Palestine and the Land of Israel are one and the same. The name =
Palestina was given to Judea - the Jewish Kingdom - by the Romans after =
the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in the year 70 C.E. The new =
name was an attempt to wipe out the memory of the Jewish people who had =
fought so valiantly against the Romans and had engaged their best troops =
at such great cost.=20

      6. A Palestinian "Nation" never existed - not in Palestine, not in =
Israel, not on the West Bank, not on the East Bank, not anywhere else. =
After the Romans, Palestine was conquered and colonized by Byzantines, =
Moslem Caliphates, Christian Crusaders, Egyptian Mamluks, Ottoman Turks =
and then placed under British rule. They all came, conquered and =
disappeared. The Arabs themselves migrated to Palestine from the east =
during the great Islamic conquest in the 7th century. Nonetheless, from =
the 7th century until the twentieth, they never established a sovereign, =
Arab, Palestinian "nation" or state in the area.=20

      7. Nonetheless, today an Arab-Palestinian state does exist. It is =
called Jordan. In a total reversal of declared policy designed to =
placate and appease the Arabs, Britain withdrew from the Balfour =
Declaration and the commitments she had made to the League of Nations in =
accepting the Mandate over Palestine. It was a morally despicable =
decision which severely restricted Jewish immigration to Palestine and =
cost the lives of countless refugees from Hitler's hell in Europe. 80% =
of the original Mandate designated as the Jewish Homeland was now given =
over to Abdullah and eventually became the Kingdom of Jordan. The =
remaining 20% became the State of Israel. (Please digest those numbers.) =
Interestingly enough, until 1948, it was the Jews in Palestine who were =
known as the "Palestinians." The Arabs refused to be called by that =
name. They were "Arabs," part of the great Moslem-Arab brotherhood =
stretching from Saudi Arabia to the sea. Today, with 80 % of the =
territory of the Palestine Mandate and a population composed of 70% =
Palestinian Arabs, Jordan is the Palestinian state.=20

      8. We therefore vehemently oppose the creation of a second, =
additional Arab state inside the already emasculated borders of the =
Jewish homeland. There are a multitude of Arab states in the Middle =
East. Israel, including Judea, Samaria (the "West Bank" which is the =
Biblical heart of the country) and Gaza, is a microscopic island in a =
great sea of Arab nations. Look at a map of the region. I guarantee that =
you will be so astounded at our miniscule size that you will not believe =
what you are seeing. These Arab nations all speak the same language, =
practice the same religion, share the same culture and are virtually one =
people. Any Arab who desires a national homeland has a rich array to =
choose from. We Jews have exactly one.=20

      9. In addition, the Middle East is now almost completely =
Judenrein. Except for tiny remnants in Egypt, Syria and Iran, there are =
no Jews left in the vast, Arab Middle East. Six hundred thousand Jews, =
some from communities which were two thousand years old, were forced to =
flee their Arab host countries in 1948. But who ever heard of a Jewish =
refugee problem? Yet Arabs live, work and move freely throughout Israel, =
despite what you are told by the media. If you don't believe it, come =
and see for yourself. The country - the only one in the Middle East - is =
open to any Jew, Moslem or gentile who desires to live here as a loyal, =
law-abiding and peaceful citizen.=20

      10. We in Israel are not simply "fighting a war against terror." =
We are fighting for the Land of Israel and for the right of the Jewish =
people - the People of Israel - to live in their Homeland. We will fight =
against anyone - terrorist, army, so-called "police force" - who tries =
to oust us from our one and only homeland.=20

      Remembrance is a Jewish trait and obligation. We remember the =
Exodus; we remember ancient and contemporary Amaleks; we remember the =
Sabbath. We remember our beloved Jerusalem; we remember our Land. We =
remember where we came from, who we are and where we are going, even =
though we may sometimes temporarily go astray. The Land of Israel has =
always belonged to, now belongs to, and will continue to belong solely =
to the Jewish People. The Jewish State was created - and is destined to =
remain - a Jewish State in our God-given Land, divinely promised and =
lovingly, faithfully, passionately remembered for close to four =
millennia. We have finally returned home.=20

      The world would therefore be wise to take note that even as our =
beleaguered Government stumbles and stutters, trying valiantly to steer =
clear of disaster and keep us afloat in the tidal wave of world =
pressures and conflicting international interests, the Jewish People did =
not return home to be sacrificed, slaughtered or sent back into exile.=20

      Because we are so fiercely independent (and democratic), everyone =
here must have their say. We are slow to move into battle formation. But =
make no mistake. We stubborn, stiff-necked, difficult Jews do not intend =
to commit national suicide in order to make life easier for =
international coalitions or to insure their goodwill. We will wage a =
bitter war against those who rise up to harm, kill, destroy or remove =
the Jewish People from the Jewish Land.=20

      The children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob have brought the world =
untold benefits - holy concepts, human dignity, wisdom; eternal values, =
unending knowledge and immeasurable progress. Find a good history book =
which doesn't downplay the peerless Jewish contribution to civilization =
and start reading. Our reward has often been a tidal wave of hatred and =
suffering, forcing us to live by our wits, and when that failed, to go =
like faithful sheep to the slaughter. Now that God has arranged our =
return to our Land after two thousand years of exile and has brought so =
many of us home, we have a strong suspicion He wants us to stay put. =
With His help, we intend to do so.=20

      2.   HOLLOW CONDEMNATIONS=20
      by Ryan Jones - Jerusalem Newswire Editorial - www.jnewswire.com - =
November 21, 2002=20

      Following this morning's deadly Palestinian "suicide" bomb attack =
on a crowded public bus in Jerusalem, the PLO Authority offered up its =
usual insubstantial condemnation, saying it was opposed to the "killing =
of all innocent civilians, be they Palestinians or Israelis."=20

      The PA's words come after 10 years of near complete inaction =
against the terror groups operating out of the territory Yasser Arafat =
undertook to administer and control. For nearly a decade, the arch =
terrorist's regime, which fields one of the largest per capita police =
forces anywhere in the world, has completely ignored those stipulations =
of the Oslo Accords it contractually agreed to implement. Had they been =
adhered to, the provisions, which included the removal, by force if =
necessary, of the terrorist infrastructure by dismantling all =
organizations engaged in such violence, would have severely restricted =
attacks such as this morning's from taking place at all.=20

      Instead, the PA - through Arafat's Fatah organization - has held =
reconciliation meetings with the likes of Hamas - one of the very groups =
slated for removal by Oslo - with the stated aspiration of formulating a =
united Palestinian front in the conflict with Israel.=20

      "We hope that [the] resistance option would be the common ground =
of this dialogue and any other future dialogue," Hamas' Abdul Aziz =
Rantisi said as the two groups met in Cairo last week.=20

      And following the murderous terrorist attack on Kibbutz Metzer as =
the talks were taking place, the Fatah cold-bloodedly stated on its =
official website, "We will continue to strike in any place, targeting =
their children as well." Five innocent Israelis, including a mother and =
her two little boys, were butchered in that attack, all of them, Fatah =
said, "Zionist colonizers" killed in a "qualitative operation in the =
settlement of Metzer."=20

      And the Al Quds newspaper reported later last Thursday that the =
two groups would resume their talks following the Muslim holy month of =
Ramadan.=20

      Regardless of the international community's apparent ongoing love =
affair with the Palestinians, all this is to be expected from a society, =
80 percent of which - according to recent Palestinian polls - praises =
and encourages the use of murder to achieve its political goals.=20

      Also playing the condemnation game today were Amnesty =
International, US President George W. Bush, and British Prime Minister =
Tony Blair. Their words of outrage and sympathy would be a comfort to =
Israelis, if recent history did not remind the Jews in this land that, =
despite the seeming understanding and compassion of these organizations =
and nations, severe condemnation of Israel will resume again just as =
soon as the IDF responds to this attack.=20

      Most worrying, however, is the emptiness of the condemnations =
emanating from Israel's own government. While strong language concerning =
the attack and those who perpetrated and supported it is being used, as =
usual, at this point in the current terrorist war it rings rather =
hollow, considering the present government's track record of sending the =
IDF in for a few days following such attacks, only to withdraw them =
before the job of ridding those areas of terrorists has been completed.=20

      Having the IDF patrol the streets of Bethlehem for a few days, and =
making a limited number of small-scale raids on local terror cells in =
the city will not eliminate the threat coming from the biblical Judean =
town. This exercise in futility has already played itself out time and =
again.=20

      Simply containing terrorist organizations in their hometowns, =
while leaving them largely intact to fight another day as soon as the =
restrictions are removed has proven to be anything but the correct way =
to rout the threat of terror.=20

      "There is only one way to defeat terror - winning, winning, =
winning," Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu succinctly pointed out at =
a Christian gathering during the recent Feast of Tabernacles in =
Jerusalem. The current strategy of "containing, containing, containing" =
simply isn't getting the job done effectively - and certainly not for =
those who must now bury their fathers, mothers and children.=20

      Unless the Sharon administration is prepared to retake Bethlehem =
and utterly wipe out any and all semblances of terror in the town - a =
proposition that seems unlikely in view of the current government's =
sensitivity to international criticism - any words they have to offer =
the nation and the families who have lost loved ones this day will =
continue to ring hollow.=20

      3. LESSONS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME=20
      By Steven Zak - Arutz Sheva - November 22, 2002=20

      When I was eight years old, my mother said that she'd never buy a =
German car, a reflection of her own childhood when the Nazis had forced =
her family to flee Austria for America. Whenever we were driving around =
in our big green '57 Buick and my mother saw a Volkswagen on the road, =
she'd say, "There's another one of Hitler's cars." I don't know what =
level of anti-Semitism still existed in Germany in the late fifties, but =
clearly, now, the most openly anti-Jewish vitriol spews from the =
Arab-Islamic world.=20

      From Holocaust denial in the Syrian, Jordanian and Iranian media =
to the Saudi revival of the centuries-old libel that Jews bake bread =
with the blood of Arabs, the hate oozing from the Muslim Middle East =
rivals anything that ever came out of the Third Reich. The latest =
manifestation is a 41-part Egyptian television series based on the =
Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a fraudulent nineteenth-century =
document that purports to be a step-by-step plan of the Jews to take =
over the world. The US spends billions to maintain Egypt's sewer =
systems, while raw sewage pours forth from that country's TV and other =
media.=20

      Egypt's defense of this vile and hateful series is that it is a =
form of free expression. And so it is -- but an expression of what? The =
Protocols were Adolf Hitler's warrant for genocide; the scheming Jews, =
after all, had to be stopped. The government-sanctioned television =
series, then, seems a purposeful display of solidarity with the man who =
best knew how -- and why -- it was necessary to exterminate Jews. But =
then, admiration for Hitler is rampant in the Arab world. The Protocols =
is widely read there. So is Mein Kampf -- particularly popular in the =
Arab-occupied territories of Judea and Samaria. Can this be a surprise? =
It is counterintuitive that a dispute over land could adequately explain =
the depths of barbarity exhibited almost daily in Israel, as typified by =
the recent point blank murder of two cowering infants and their mother =
by an Arab who crept into their home, and the bombing of a Jerusalem bus =
full of children. The more plausible explanation is this: pure and =
simple hatred of Jews.=20

      Which recalls another childhood incident some forty years ago, =
when my parents took me to the New York World's Fair. I remember an =
Egyptian exhibit that caught my interest -- I probably thought I'd see =
some mummies -- but my mother wouldn't allow us to patronize it. The =
reason, she said, was that "they hate the Jews." I had no idea then what =
she was talking about. Even in young adulthood, I didn't identify with =
the older Jewish generation's seemingly paranoid focus on anti-Semitism. =
I've since come to see, though, that my mother was right about a lot of =
things -- especially the Arabs, who have a long history of hatred toward =
Jews.=20

      In 1921, twenty-seven years before Israel even existed, Arab gangs =
on a rampage through the holy land killed Jews by the dozens. They did =
the same for seven days straight in 1929, and again between 1936 and =
1939, murdering hundreds. Those pogroms, of course, predated the Arabs' =
latest excuse, the 1967 war and the resulting "occupied territories" (an =
Arab euphemism for any area not judenrein). As did Arab support for =
Hitler as far back as 1933.=20

      Which brings me back to my mother and those German cars. =
Over-analyzing, I once reasoned that, for her, they were symbolic -- a =
representation of the people who hated her, glass and steel objects =
against which to express her defiance in their stead. But now, I think =
she was just trying to make a simple point: You don't empower those who =
would have you dead.=20

      I think about that often: Every time I read about another murder =
by Yasser Arafat's henchmen, or about a proposed "Palestinian" state. =
Whenever I contemplate September 11. And every time I see some =
fuel-sucking Hummer or Ford Excursion or the like rumbling down the road =
-- an occasion that may inspire me to mumble, "There's another one of =
Saudi Arabia's cars."=20

      I don't hold answers to what specifically we -- Jews, Christians, =
Americans, Israelis -- should do, individually or collectively, about =
those who wish us ill. But I recently made one modest gesture: In =
mid-lease -- notwithstanding a substantial early-termination penalty -- =
I handed in the keys to my gas-guzzling truck in favor of a more miserly =
VW bug. I don't expect that single act, by itself, to change the world. =
However, like my family's refusal to patronize that exhibit at the =
World's Fair, it served to clarify the mind. And it felt right. So much =
so, that I don't even worry about explaining to my mother about the =
Volkswagen. She taught me to identify my enemies and to act accordingly. =
I know she'll understand=20

      4.   ARAFAT'S BLOODY CON GAME=20
      New York Post Editorial - November 22, 2002=20

      Even as Israeli crews were scraping the body parts from the =
streets of Jerusalem after yet another bombing outrage, Secretary of =
State Colin Powell demanded - yet again - that the Palestinians "take =
immediate and sustained steps to eradicate the infrastructure of =
terrorism."=20

      And, again, Yasser Arafat's aides "condemned" the bloodshed on the =
one hand - then blamed it all on Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon =
"and his policies."=20

      When will this broken record finally be replaced by concrete =
action? When will Yasser Arafat face real consequences - in fact, not in =
words - over his sustained refusal to confront terrorism?=20

      This endless game of U.S. demands on Arafat resembles nothing more =
than the diplomatic shell game that the United Nations has played with =
Saddam Hussein for the past decade.=20

      No less than 16 resolutions have demanded Saddam's compliance - =
but his refusals are met with silence. Yesterday's rush-hour bus bombing =
in Jerusalem claimed 11 lives - four of them aged 8 to 16 - and wounded =
49 others. It follows by days a series of anti-Israeli terrorist =
outrages, including the deliberate gunning down in their beds of two =
toddlers and their mother as they cowered in fear.=20

      Yet Arafat blithely insists that he can do nothing about =
terrorism. He simply ignores Powell's and President Bush's demands that =
he move decisively against terrorist groups - including those allied =
with him personally.=20

      When, concerning Arafat, will Bush declare - as he did last week =
about Saddam Hussein - that "the old game of cheat-and-retreat, =
tolerated at other times, will no longer be tolerated"?=20

        "After 10 years of terrible terror with the Palestinian =
Authority, is there anyone left who does not understand that the PA =
intends to destroy [Israel]?=85 They nurture their children to aspire to =
the destruction of the State of Israel, and anyone who does not =
understand that, does not live in the real world."
      =96Foreign Minister and candidate for prime minister Binyamin =
Netanyahu, saying he would refuse to be a member of a government led by =
Sharon if the prime minister refuses to abandon his support of a =
Palestinian state. He stressed, however, that he would not have to =
confront this problem, as he expects to win next Thursday's leadership =
election. (Ha=92aretz, Nov. 20)=20

with sticks, daggers and knives set fire to vehicles and attacked anyone =
they suspected of being Christian."=20

following is=20
      unsophisticated, undiplomatic, simple, stark and direct. It is =
also=20
      politically incorrect, uncomfortable and difficult for many people =
to=20
      hear. The truth often is. Which is why even those in the =
Government of=20
      Israel who accept these principles have trouble articulating them =
for the=20
      public. As a private citizen, I have the luxury of speaking freely =
- after=20
      all, I do live in the only democracy in the Middle East - and of =
saying=20
      what people, especially Jews, all over the world know and believe =
is true.=20
      Therefore, I hereby proclaim... <BR><BR>1. <B>The Land of Israel - =
the=20
      "Holy Land" - is the Divinely-bestowed, Eternal Heritage of the =
Jewish=20
      People, promised by God to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and=20
      Jacob</B>. It has been the indisputable, historical Jewish =
homeland since=20
      the time of Abraham, 3744 years ago. Look it up in the book of =
Genesis.=20
      <BR><BR>2. <B>The Temple Mount is holy because God chose it as the =
site=20
      for the Beit Hamikdash - the Holy Temple</B>. The First Temple was =
built=20
      here in the year 833 B.C.E., fifteen hundred years prior to =
Mohammed and=20
      the rise of Islam - despite wishful Arab claims to the contrary. =
The two=20
      Temples stood on this spot for a total of almost one thousand =
years. Six=20
      hundred years later, in the eighth century, the gilded Dome of the =
Rock=20
      (the Mosque of Omar) and the El Aksa mosque were built on the =
site.=20
      <BR><BR>3. <B>Jerusalem is the Eternal capital of the Jewish =
people</B>.=20
      Jewish Biblical tradition claims the city and the Temple Mount =
from the=20
      time of Abraham down to King David down to today. Jerusalem is the =

      geographic and spiritual heart of Jewish existence in this world. =
It is=20
      mentioned more than 600 times in the Bible and scores of thousands =
of=20
      times in Jewish sources (and not even once in the Koran). All Jews =

      everywhere turn to face Jerusalem in prayer. Moslems turn to face =
Mecca.=20
      As is God Himself, so too are Jerusalem and the Jewish People - =
one,=20
      eternal and indivisible. <BR><BR>4. <B>Jerusalem, Hebron, =
Bethlehem,=20
      Nablus, Gaza are all ancient Biblical cities - Jewish cities</B> - =
part of=20
      the legacy of the Twelve Tribes of Israel and home to continuous =
Jewish=20
      settlement from Biblical times until the late nineteenth-early =
20th=20
      century. They are full of Jewish holy sites, burial places, =
archeological=20
      remains and historical memories - witness to an unbroken Jewish =
presence=20
      in the Land of Israel. <BR><BR>5. <B>Palestine and the Land of =
Israel are=20
      one and the same</B>. The name Palestina was given to Judea - the =
Jewish=20
      Kingdom - by the Romans after the destruction of Jerusalem and the =
Temple=20
      in the year 70 C.E. The new name was an attempt to wipe out the =
memory of=20
      the Jewish people who had fought so valiantly against the Romans =
and had=20
      engaged their best troops at such great cost. <BR><BR>6. <B>A =
Palestinian=20
      "Nation" never existed - not in Palestine, not in Israel, not on =
the West=20
      Bank, not on the East Bank, not anywhere else</B>. After the =
Romans,=20
      Palestine was conquered and colonized by Byzantines, Moslem =
Caliphates,=20
      Christian Crusaders, Egyptian Mamluks, Ottoman Turks and then =
placed under=20
      British rule. They all came, conquered and disappeared. The Arabs=20
      themselves migrated to Palestine from the east during the great =
Islamic=20
      conquest in the 7th century. Nonetheless, from the 7th century =
until the=20
      twentieth, they never established a sovereign, Arab, Palestinian =
"nation"=20
      or state in the area. <BR><BR>7. <B>Nonetheless, today an =
Arab-Palestinian=20
      state does exist. It is called Jordan</B>. In a total reversal of =
declared=20
      policy designed to placate and appease the Arabs, Britain withdrew =
from=20
      the Balfour Declaration and the commitments she had made to the =
League of=20
      Nations in accepting the Mandate over Palestine. It was a morally=20
      despicable decision which severely restricted Jewish immigration =
to=20
      Palestine and cost the lives of countless refugees from Hitler's =
hell in=20
      Europe. 80% of the original Mandate designated as the Jewish =
Homeland was=20
      now given over to Abdullah and eventually became the Kingdom of =
Jordan.=20
      The remaining 20% became the State of Israel. (Please digest those =

      numbers.) Interestingly enough, until 1948, it was the Jews in =
Palestine=20
      who were known as the "Palestinians." The Arabs refused to be =
called by=20
      that name. They were "Arabs," part of the great Moslem-Arab =
brotherhood=20
      stretching from Saudi Arabia to the sea. Today, with 80 % of the =
territory=20
      of the Palestine Mandate and a population composed of 70% =
Palestinian=20
      Arabs, Jordan is the Palestinian state. <BR><BR>8. <B>We therefore =

      vehemently oppose the creation of a second, additional Arab state =
inside=20
      the already emasculated borders of the Jewish homeland</B>. There =
are a=20
      multitude of Arab states in the Middle East. Israel, including =
Judea,=20
      Samaria (the "West Bank" which is the Biblical heart of the =
country) and=20
      Gaza, is a microscopic island in a great sea of Arab nations. Look =
at a=20
      map of the region. I guarantee that you will be so astounded at =
our=20
      miniscule size that you will not believe what you are seeing. =
These Arab=20
      nations all speak the same language, practice the same religion, =
share the=20
      same culture and are virtually one people. Any Arab who desires a =
national=20
      homeland has a rich array to choose from. We Jews have exactly =
one.=20
      <BR><BR>9. <B>In addition, the Middle East is now almost =
completely=20
      Judenrein</B>. Except for tiny remnants in Egypt, Syria and Iran, =
there=20
      are no Jews left in the vast, Arab Middle East. Six hundred =
thousand Jews,=20
      some from communities which were two thousand years old, were =
forced to=20
      flee their Arab host countries in 1948. But who ever heard of a =
Jewish=20
      refugee problem? Yet Arabs live, work and move freely throughout =
Israel,=20
      despite what you are told by the media. If you don't believe it, =
come and=20
      see for yourself. The country - the only one in the Middle East - =
is open=20
      to any Jew, Moslem or gentile who desires to live here as a loyal, =

      law-abiding and peaceful citizen. <BR><BR>10. <B>We in Israel are =
not=20
      simply "fighting a war against terror."</B> We are fighting for =
the Land=20
      of Israel and for the right of the Jewish people - the People of =
Israel -=20
      to live in their Homeland. We will fight against anyone - =
terrorist, army,=20
      so-called "police force" - who tries to oust us from our one and =
only=20
      homeland. <BR><BR><B>Remembrance is a Jewish trait and =
obligation</B>. We=20
      remember the Exodus; we remember ancient and contemporary Amaleks; =
we=20
      remember the Sabbath. We remember our beloved Jerusalem; we =
remember our=20
      Land. We remember where we came from, who we are and where we are =
going,=20
      even though we may sometimes temporarily go astray. The Land of =
Israel has=20
      always belonged to, now belongs to, and will continue to belong =
solely to=20
      the Jewish People. The Jewish State was created - and is destined =
to=20
      remain - a Jewish State in our God-given Land, divinely promised =
and=20
      lovingly, faithfully, passionately remembered for close to four =
millennia.=20
      We have finally returned home. <BR><BR><B>The world would =
therefore be=20
      wise to take note</B> that even as our beleaguered Government =
stumbles and=20
      stutters, trying valiantly to steer clear of disaster and keep us =
afloat=20
      in the tidal wave of world pressures and conflicting international =

      interests, the Jewish People did not return home to be sacrificed, =

      slaughtered or sent back into exile. <BR><BR>Because we are so =
fiercely=20
      independent (and democratic), everyone here must have their say. =
We are=20
      slow to move into battle formation. But make no mistake. We =
stubborn,=20
      stiff-necked, difficult Jews do not intend to commit national =
suicide in=20
      order to make life easier for international coalitions or to =
insure their=20
      goodwill. We will wage a bitter war against those who rise up to =
harm,=20
      kill, destroy or remove the Jewish People from the Jewish Land.=20
      <BR><BR>The children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob have brought the =
world=20
      untold benefits - holy concepts, human dignity, wisdom; eternal =
values,=20
      unending knowledge and immeasurable progress. Find a good history =
book=20
      which doesn't downplay the peerless Jewish contribution to =
civilization=20
      and start reading. Our reward has often been a tidal wave of =
hatred and=20
      suffering, forcing us to live by our wits, and when that failed, =
to go=20
      like faithful sheep to the slaughter. Now that God has arranged =
our return=20
      to our Land after two thousand years of exile and has brought so =
many of=20
      us home, we have a strong suspicion He wants us to stay put. With =
His=20
      help, we intend to do so.=20

      <P>by Ryan Jones - Jerusalem Newswire Editorial - =

      <P><FONT color=3D#800000 size=3D+2>F</FONT>ollowing this morning's =
deadly=20
      Palestinian "suicide" bomb attack on a crowded public bus in =
Jerusalem,=20
      the PLO Authority offered up its usual insubstantial condemnation, =
saying=20
      it was opposed to the "killing of all innocent civilians, be they=20
      Palestinians or Israelis."=20
      <P>The PA's words come after 10 years of near complete inaction =
against=20
      the terror groups operating out of the territory Yasser Arafat =
undertook=20
      to administer and control. For nearly a decade, the arch =
terrorist's=20
      regime, which fields one of the largest per capita police forces =
anywhere=20
      in the world, has completely ignored those stipulations of the =
Oslo=20
      Accords it contractually agreed to implement. Had they been =
adhered to,=20
      the provisions, which included the removal, by force if necessary, =
of the=20
      terrorist infrastructure by dismantling all organizations engaged =
in such=20
      violence, would have severely restricted attacks such as this =
morning's=20
      from taking place at all.=20
      <P>Instead, the PA - through Arafat's Fatah organization - has =
held=20
      reconciliation meetings with the likes of Hamas - one of the very =
groups=20
      slated for removal by Oslo - with the stated aspiration of =
formulating a=20
      united Palestinian front in the conflict with Israel.=20
      <P>"We hope that [the] resistance option would be the common =
ground of=20
      this dialogue and any other future dialogue," Hamas' Abdul Aziz =
Rantisi=20
      said as the two groups met in Cairo last week.=20
      <P>And following the murderous terrorist attack on Kibbutz Metzer =
as the=20
      talks were taking place, the Fatah cold-bloodedly stated on its =
official=20
      website, "We will continue to strike in any place, targeting their =

      children as well." Five innocent Israelis, including a mother and =
her two=20
      little boys, were butchered in that attack, all of them, Fatah =
said,=20
      "Zionist colonizers" killed in a "qualitative operation in the =
settlement=20
      of Metzer."=20
      <P>And the Al Quds newspaper reported later last Thursday that the =
two=20
      groups would resume their talks following the Muslim holy month of =

      Ramadan.=20
      <P>Regardless of the international community's apparent ongoing =
love=20
      affair with the Palestinians, all this is to be expected from a =
society,=20
      80 percent of which - according to recent Palestinian polls - =
praises and=20
      encourages the use of murder to achieve its political goals.=20
      <P>Also playing the condemnation game today were Amnesty =
International, US=20
      President George W. Bush, and British Prime Minister Tony Blair. =
Their=20
      words of outrage and sympathy would be a comfort to Israelis, if =
recent=20
      history did not remind the Jews in this land that, despite the =
seeming=20
      understanding and compassion of these organizations and nations, =
severe=20
      condemnation of Israel will resume again just as soon as the IDF =
responds=20
      to this attack.=20
      <P>Most worrying, however, is the emptiness of the condemnations =
emanating=20
      from Israel's own government. While strong language concerning the =
attack=20
      and those who perpetrated and supported it is being used, as =
usual, at=20
      this point in the current terrorist war it rings rather hollow,=20
      considering the present government's track record of sending the =
IDF in=20
      for a few days following such attacks, only to withdraw them =
before the=20
      job of ridding those areas of terrorists has been completed.=20
      <P>Having the IDF patrol the streets of Bethlehem for a few days, =
and=20
      making a limited number of small-scale raids on local terror cells =
in the=20
      city will not eliminate the threat coming from the biblical Judean =
town.=20
      This exercise in futility has already played itself out time and =
again.=20
      <P>Simply containing terrorist organizations in their hometowns, =
while=20
      leaving them largely intact to fight another day as soon as the=20
      restrictions are removed has proven to be anything but the correct =
way to=20
      rout the threat of terror.=20
      <P>"There is only one way to defeat terror - winning, winning, =
winning,"=20
      Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu succinctly pointed out at a =
Christian=20
      gathering during the recent Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem. The =
current=20
      strategy of "containing, containing, containing" simply isn't =
getting the=20
      job done effectively - and certainly not for those who must now =
bury their=20
      fathers, mothers and children.=20
      <P>Unless the Sharon administration is prepared to retake =
Bethlehem and=20
      utterly wipe out any and all semblances of terror in the town - a=20
      proposition that seems unlikely in view of the current =
government's=20
      sensitivity to international criticism - any words they have to =
offer the=20
      nation and the families who have lost loved ones this day will =
continue to=20
      ring hollow.=20

      <B>3. &nbsp;&nbsp;<A name=3D3>LESSONS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME</A> </B>
      <P>By Steven Zak - Arutz Sheva - November 22, 2002=20
      <P><FONT color=3D#800000 size=3D+2>W</FONT>hen I was eight years =
old, my=20
      mother said that she'd never buy a German car, a reflection of her =
own=20
      childhood when the Nazis had forced her family to flee Austria for =

      America. Whenever we were driving around in our big green '57 =
Buick and my=20
      mother saw a Volkswagen on the road, she'd say, "There's another =
one of=20
      Hitler's cars." I don't know what level of anti-Semitism still =
existed in=20
      Germany in the late fifties, but clearly, now, the most openly =
anti-Jewish=20
      vitriol spews from the Arab-Islamic world.=20
      <P>From Holocaust denial in the Syrian, Jordanian and Iranian =
media to the=20
      Saudi revival of the centuries-old libel that Jews bake bread with =
the=20
      blood of Arabs, the hate oozing from the Muslim Middle East rivals =

      anything that ever came out of the Third Reich. The latest =
manifestation=20
      is a 41-part Egyptian television series based on the Protocols of =
the=20
      Elders of Zion, a fraudulent nineteenth-century document that =
purports to=20
      be a step-by-step plan of the Jews to take over the world. The US =
spends=20
      billions to maintain Egypt's sewer systems, while raw sewage pours =
forth=20
      from that country's TV and other media.=20
      <P>Egypt's defense of this vile and hateful series is that it is a =
form of=20
      free expression. And so it is -- but an expression of what? The =
Protocols=20
      were Adolf Hitler's warrant for genocide; the scheming Jews, after =
all,=20
      had to be stopped. The government-sanctioned television series, =
then,=20
      seems a purposeful display of solidarity with the man who best =
knew how --=20
      and why -- it was necessary to exterminate Jews. But then, =
admiration for=20
      Hitler is rampant in the Arab world. The Protocols is widely read =
there.=20
      So is Mein Kampf -- particularly popular in the Arab-occupied =
territories=20
      of Judea and Samaria. Can this be a surprise? It is =
counterintuitive that=20
      a dispute over land could adequately explain the depths of =
barbarity=20
      exhibited almost daily in Israel, as typified by the recent point =
blank=20
      murder of two cowering infants and their mother by an Arab who =
crept into=20
      their home, and the bombing of a Jerusalem bus full of children. =
The more=20
      plausible explanation is this: pure and simple hatred of Jews.=20
      <P>Which recalls another childhood incident some forty years ago, =
when my=20
      parents took me to the New York World's Fair. I remember an =
Egyptian=20
      exhibit that caught my interest -- I probably thought I'd see some =
mummies=20
      -- but my mother wouldn't allow us to patronize it. The reason, =
she said,=20
      was that "they hate the Jews." I had no idea then what she was =
talking=20
      about. Even in young adulthood, I didn't identify with the older =
Jewish=20
      generation's seemingly paranoid focus on anti-Semitism. I've since =
come to=20
      see, though, that my mother was right about a lot of things -- =
especially=20
      the Arabs, who have a long history of hatred toward Jews.=20
      <P>In 1921, twenty-seven years before Israel even existed, Arab =
gangs on a=20
      rampage through the holy land killed Jews by the dozens. They did =
the same=20
      for seven days straight in 1929, and again between 1936 and 1939,=20
      murdering hundreds. Those pogroms, of course, predated the Arabs' =
latest=20
      excuse, the 1967 war and the resulting "occupied territories" (an =
Arab=20
      euphemism for any area not judenrein). As did Arab support for =
Hitler as=20
      far back as 1933.=20
      <P>Which brings me back to my mother and those German cars.=20
      Over-analyzing, I once reasoned that, for her, they were symbolic =
-- a=20
      representation of the people who hated her, glass and steel =
objects=20
      against which to express her defiance in their stead. But now, I =
think she=20
      was just trying to make a simple point: You don't empower those =
who would=20
      have you dead.=20
      <P>I think about that often: Every time I read about another =
murder by=20
      Yasser Arafat's henchmen, or about a proposed "Palestinian" state. =

      Whenever I contemplate September 11. And every time I see some=20
      fuel-sucking Hummer or Ford Excursion or the like rumbling down =
the road=20
      -- an occasion that may inspire me to mumble, "There's another one =
of=20
      Saudi Arabia's cars."=20
      <P>I don't hold answers to what specifically we -- Jews, =
Christians,=20
      Americans, Israelis -- should do, individually or collectively, =
about=20
      those who wish us ill. But I recently made one modest gesture: In=20
      mid-lease -- notwithstanding a substantial early-termination =
penalty -- I=20
      handed in the keys to my gas-guzzling truck in favor of a more =
miserly VW=20
      bug. I don't expect that single act, by itself, to change the =
world.=20
      However, like my family's refusal to patronize that exhibit at the =
World's=20
      Fair, it served to clarify the mind. And it felt right. So much =
so, that I=20
      don't even worry about explaining to my mother about the =
Volkswagen. She=20
      taught me to identify my enemies and to act accordingly. I know =
she'll=20
      understand=20

      <B>4. &nbsp;&nbsp;<A name=3D4>ARAFAT'S BLOODY CON GAME</A></B>=20
      <P>New York Post Editorial - November 22, 2002=20
      <P><FONT color=3D#800000 size=3D+2>E</FONT>ven as Israeli crews =
were scraping=20
      the body parts from the streets of Jerusalem after yet another =
bombing=20
      outrage, Secretary of State Colin Powell demanded - yet again - =
that the=20
      Palestinians "take immediate and sustained steps to eradicate the=20
      infrastructure of terrorism."=20
      <P>And, again, Yasser Arafat's aides "condemned" the bloodshed on =
the one=20
      hand - then blamed it all on Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon =
"and his=20
      policies."=20
      <P>When will this broken record finally be replaced by concrete =
action?=20
      When will Yasser Arafat face real consequences - in fact, not in =
words -=20
      over his sustained refusal to confront terrorism?=20
      <P>This endless game of U.S. demands on Arafat resembles nothing =
more than=20
      the diplomatic shell game that the United Nations has played with =
Saddam=20
      Hussein for the past decade.=20
      <P>No less than 16 resolutions have demanded Saddam's compliance - =
but his=20
      refusals are met with silence. Yesterday's rush-hour bus bombing =
in=20
      Jerusalem claimed 11 lives - four of them aged 8 to 16 - and =
wounded 49=20
      others. It follows by days a series of anti-Israeli terrorist =
outrages,=20
      including the deliberate gunning down in their beds of two =
toddlers and=20
      their mother as they cowered in fear.=20
      <P>Yet Arafat blithely insists that he can do nothing about =
terrorism. He=20
      simply ignores Powell's and President Bush's demands that he move=20
      decisively against terrorist groups - including those allied with =
him=20
      personally.=20
      <P>When, concerning Arafat, will Bush declare - as he did last =
week about=20
      Saddam Hussein - that "the old game of cheat-and-retreat, =
tolerated at=20
      other times, will no longer be tolerated"?=20
