[AGL] report from the front lines

Food deserts is not a term that has come from nothing. The WalMart effect
has wiped out small grocery stores that had been serving people. Even
gardening is expensive, especially in the desert where there is low
rainfall. I have trouble keeping my gardens watered here in Corpus Christi.
The clay dirt develops two inch wide cracks from drought like conditions
that come about intermittently. People who have to survive on Dollar Store
groceries are handicapped and sometimes overweight from the low quality
foods sold there.
Best,
Frances
