A few links about Coronavirus caution from Roger. Sent with permission.
Perhaps the persons who talked him into dropping off the ghetto list/s is
no longer on it. I don't know. I can't remember who.
Best,
Frances

How bad this Covid-19 thing is likely to play out is only slowly being
revealed. The USA kind of dropped the ball due, to moronic denial and
Trump-think. The CDC is only now revealing that it is already so widely
distributed across the USA that we are on our own. Once it really gets
going and you get sick, the medical system will be overwhelmed.
Now we have a pandemic that demands war-like preparations and a
simultaneous economic crisis hitting many countries hard. South Korea has
been doing a good job testing and tracking, but the USA has barely started
testing.
Cash will keep working for a time, at least until severe inflation or
hoarding kicks in for survival goods. Here are a couple of good economic
analyses to help make sense of the current mess, which actually stems from
multiple interacting crises. Cheap fuel now means unaffordable fuel later
when shale oil supplies run short. A pandemic like this will strongly
depress both Chinese supply and US travel demand in an economy already
struggling to handle a mountain of unpayable fiat currency obligations,
thanks to our Fed.

- The CDC is expanding its guidance for people at extreme risk of
serious illness, like those over 60 or with underlying health conditions.
- Those over the age of 60 should start stocking up on enough groceries
and medications to have on hand, the CDC said.
- Those at greatest risk of serious illness should stay home as much as
possible if COVID-19 comes to their community, the CDC said.

Elderly Americans and people with underlying health conditions should stock
up on food and prepare to isolate themselves at home since they are the
most at risk of getting seriously ill from the coronavirus, a senior health
official said Monday.
The advice is part of new recommendations from the US Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention aimed at the most vulnerable populations
<https://nypost.com/2020/03/07/coronavirus-claims-two-elderly-victims-in-florida/>
and stems partly from a new study of 70,000 Chinese patients with the virus.
“Have enough household items and groceries so that you will be prepared to
stay home for a period of time,” Nancy Messonnier, a senior CDC official,
said in a conference call Monday.

Since it takes 5 days to show symptoms, average bus riders and clerks in
stores will be spreading it by talking without knowing it. People emit
infectious particles when they talk, but also when they handle money,
etc.
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/09/it-takes-an-average-of-5-days-for-coronavirus-symptoms-to-show-new-study-says.html
- It takes about five days for COVID-19 symptoms to show after
contracting the virus.
- The vast majority of those infected will develop symptoms within 12
days.
- That’s in line with current CDC recommendations that call for patients
to remain in quarantine or self-isolation for 14 days after potential
exposure.
