Being as fickle as I am regarding politics, I am prepared to vote for
Warren if on balance her platform is what I want. Likewise I am prepared
to vote for Beto ditto when I know his platform. The Guardian article
looked at his actual voting record which was 30% for Republican
measures. He is a high energy guy - skateboarding, driving the car. I
said what I said in the elevator as a knee-jerk reaction to her
excitedly announcing to a black employe the thrilling news (to her) that
Beto had announced for president, had thrown his hat into the ring. (of
course he doesn't wear a hat - no politician does. He may be a natural,
like Bill and Obama both of whom realized that they had the moves to
pull it off. The young black man clearly had no idea what she and I were
arguing about.
