Carmen,

I was told that Fletcher, driving, was in a car wreck. He was taken to
hospital
and died several weeks later.

I don't know any details of Stanley's demise.

Fletcher way back was known as the Wizard. As you say, nobody was cooler
than
Fletcher. From Wichita Falls. To give you an idea of the man, I ran into
him at
Woolridge Park in the days when he was running the xerox machine in the
basement
of a state building, Ann Richards having hired him. He railed against
suicide citing
his days as an orderly at the State Hospital cleaning up afterwards.
With great
dignity he said that despite losing his wife, his mother and his
business (and his
health not so good), he meant to go on living - and so he did.
