[AGL] but this is 2017!

i went poking around the Austin-Ghetto-List interface and discovered
that "they"/"it" has archived every day everything posted to the list
apparently commencing in 2000!

the archives are compessed in a GZ file for which i found an app that
unpacked the compressed file. i suspect this app garbles the contents.
here is the uncompressed emails from THE VERY FIRST DAY in Dec.
2000. it is only ~600bytes compressed.

somewhere in the archives are hidden the gems of Gerry Storm's funny
rants and comments - i uncompressed a larger file of 4Kbytes,
too unintelligible to post here. but i did see Jon Ford's name
flash by. sad news: MaryJane Ford informed me that her brother
has Alzheimer's disease. sic transit gloria dei!

Did anyone see the "interview" of the American Taliban fighter last night
on ABC news?  Talk about stupid and pointless and bad PR for the American
soldiers.
