I should have pointed out that Simmons' email was not
moderated but deferred. The software permits the selective
moderation of cut-up subscribers. No subscriber at the
moment is moderated. As I remember, one subscriber
in the past had the Moderate Subscriber box checked, but
she has calmed down in recent years and no longer needs
digital moderation.

The administrators of some mail-lists moderate all postings
before distribution to subscribers, generally mail-lists devoted
to a specific subject.
