I just had another thought. Maybe since they come from bulbs perhaps these bulbs act as storage tanks for the rain we had last week. I've never heard of this but it is plausible.
Best,
Frances

During a Willie Nelson Picnic weekend I had the unusual experience of sleeping outside overnight. About four in the morning there was a dew that made surfaces exposed to the air wet. This is likely recurrent as part of a day's cycle. Once the sun was up for a while the dew evaporated and things appeared dry again. This might be just enough moisture to sustain your flowers.
Best,
Frances
