i have been using Spotify to listen to pop music, etc. this is a 
stand-alone
application, downloadable from their Web site www.spotify.com

they have a free version - with occasional ads - and for pay version
without ads.

you can generate playlists of your own choice or just highlight
a bunch of cuts from your choice of musician. with right mouse
click you can Queue a bunch and then hit Play to listen
