Here's what I got last nite.
        West Beach will be devastated - which may be as it should be.  Too much development out that way recently, and way to expensive homes right on the beach.

        Crystal Beach and the Bolivar Peninsula is a sad case.  This is a community of old modest beach houses on stilts.  I'm afraid there may be loss of life on Bolivar.

        Galveston proper and the Strand will, I think, be a big mess. 40% of the population did not evacuate, but I don't think the main part of the island will be destroyed, just messy. 

        Here, I'm getting gusts (maybe 50), but nothing steady.  The wind gusting through the neighborhood trees make a strange harmony.

        I hope I don't lose power.
