I saw it a while back, and remember the unadorned intimacy between roky and his mother, and between roky and sumner, which is pretty amazing considering roky was "not of this world". I thought sumner was a brave soul for taking on the project of rehabilitating a mad older brother. Did you see the Austin Chronicle cover photo of Roky about a year after this movie was finished? Wore a top hat, new teeth. Lovely.
Hope everyone knows that Roky is doing reasonably well now.

I checked out the above titled documentary on Netflix and watched it last night. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. Some of the "facts" were off a bit but all in all it was a good.
There were lots of scenes in and around Austin, driving down familiar streets in South Austin, etc. and some familiar faces, now old people.
Anyone who has a young friend who wants to be a rock and roller should require them to see this flick, a rare peek through the hype.
