Who was it that introduced us to Edit Piaf in the 60s?
Was it Travis? I had no idea that the woman singing
the lovely french songs had such a tortured, I mean
tortured life. La Vie en Rose is a movie about her
life and rise to become the sound of the soul of
France. A poignant line in La vie en rose delivered by
an ailing, fairly young but weathered Piaf - "I
overdid it last night, didn't I" (or something like
that). The performance by M Cotillard was stunning.
Don't miss it, you can get it on DVD or on demand TV.

Love, Janis. Ok. I cried with the opening song,
"Piece of my Heart" and again with final song, "Get it
While You Can - don't turn your back on love". Our
very own tortured songstress. It was a great
performance and the packed Alley Theatre loved it.
BTW, Randy and I had to buy stand-by tickets Saturday
night, every performance had been sold out early.
